The technical skilled educational institutions were started in 1943, by the name """"Occupational Institutes"""". Later, these are renamed as """"Polytechnics""""(multiple technical skills/many technical skills). All these Polytechnics were working under """"Public Instruction Department"""". As the number of Polytechnics and Technical degree colleges were increased, the new department called """"Department of Technical Education """" came into existance in 1959.
The Directorate of Technical Education ensures a planned development of technical education in the state consistent with the policies of State and the Nation. The department is committed to provide need based, quality technical education and professional human resources to the industry, business and community. The Department manages 85 government, 44 aided and 170 private polytechnics, 14 govt Engineering Colleges and 6 Junior Technical Schools.
The Department of Technical Education is the highest policy making body in the field of Technical Education in Karnataka. Its primary function is planning of developing Technical Education in the state and the Board of Technical Examination is responsible to conduct Diploma/Post diploma /Tailoring examination and award Diploma/Post Diploma/certificate to the eligible candidates.
How does DTE Karnataka Polytechnic Merit List 2022 is Prepared?
