चैनपुर के समर्थकों ने रघु को सावधान किया “उनके उकसाने पर मत जाना, सावधान रहकर खेलो।” रघु ने हामी भरी । उसे पता था कि रामपुर के खिलाड़ियों की मंशा थी, कि वे उसे पकड़ लें और यह मैच जीत लें। रघु ने स्वयं कहा मुझे इन सारे लोगों (खिलाड़ियों) को छूकर वापस अपने क्षेत्र में लौट जाना चाहिए। ताकि सब आउट हो जाएँ एक ही बार में और हम मैच को जीत जाएँ।

जैसे ही रघु आगे बढ़ा कि रामपुर के खिलाड़ियों ने उसे चारो ओर से घेर लिया वे निश्चिंत थे कि. घेर करके रघु को पकड़ लेंगे। सारे खिलाड़ी एकबारगी रघु पर टूट पड़े। रघु गिर पड़ा तो सारे खिलाड़ी भी उस पर ही गिर पड़े और उसे कसकर पकड़ लिये । वह रघु को मजबूर कर रहे थे कि . वह ‘हल्दी-चूना’ बोलकर अपनी हार को जल्दी मान ले । लेकिन रघु ने स्वयं पर काबू रखा और उठने की पूरी कोशिश की पर उसकी कोशिश बेकार रही। वह उठने में असमर्थ रहा।

चैनपुर के समर्थकों ने उसे जोश दिलाया “उठो, रघु उठो । उठ खड़ा हो।” तब, रघु ने अपनी शक्ति को समेटा और तीर की तरह आगे बढ़ा, बीच की लकीर को छू लिया। इस प्रकार उसने चैनपुर टीम का मैच जिता दिया। रघु के मैच जिता देने पर चैनपुर के समर्थकों ने खुशी में चूर होकर उसे अपने कंधों पर उठा लिया और उसकी वाहवाही करने लगे।
