Writing in a diary was a really strange experience for Anne as she was writing it for the first time. He realized that no one would be interested in the thoughts of a thirteen-year-old girl. But in her state of depression, she wanted a partner, and 'she found that only a diary could be her true and patient friend in which to overcome her boredom.

She wrote that her parents and her sixteen-year-old sister were Margot. There were about thirty people whom she could call her friends. He also had a family, loving aunts and a nice home, but still wanted a true friend, who he found in the form of a diary and affectionately named it 'Kitty'.

Anne was sent to Montessori Nursery School. She remained there until she was six years old. His headmistress at that time was Mrs. Kupras. He was given a tearful farewell at the end of the year. Her grandmother, whom she loved dearly, fell ill in 194] and was operated upon. He died in 1942 which shocked him greatly.

All the students were nervous on the day of result. Of his nine teachers, Mr. Keesing, his math teacher was often angry with Anne because she was too talkative. As punishment, she was given to write an essay- 'A Chatterbox', which she was unable to write. Somehow she managed to complete her homework. He thought that talking was a student's specialty.

He had inherited the talkative nature from his mother. After reading the essay, Mr. Keesing laughed in his mind. Once again he gave another essay - 'An Incredible Chatterbox' as a punishment. He didn't speak for two lessons. During the third lesson, he again asked her to write on the topic 'quack, quack, quack, mistress chatterbox'. Anne laughed at this and the class also laughed out loud. Now she wanted to write something new and concrete on this subject but could not write it. His friend Sunny helped him write. He wrote in verse.

Anne read the story in class. It featured the story of a mother of a duck and a father of a swan with three ducks. Father Hans had bitten and killed three ducks because they chuckled too much. It was actually Mr Keesing's joke, but luckily he took it the right way. Then he was allowed to talk and no extra work was given. Mr. Keesing was a changed person at the time, and he even started cracking jokes in class.
