मोर उसके पास जाते और उसके हाथों से मूंगफली, चावल और आम खाते। नितिन ने सोचा कि ये सब जानना दिलचस्प है और उसने लुसी से पूछा कि क्या वह उसे रमण महर्षि और जानवरों के बारे में और दिलचस्प कहानियाँ बता सकती है।
लुसी फिर रमण महर्षि के जीवन की एक घटना सुनाती है। वह उसे बताती है कि एक दिन महर्षि एक पहाड़ी पर बैठे थे और एक सांप उनके पैरों पर रेंग रहा था। वह एक बहादुर आदमी था और वह न हिलता था और न ही कोई डर दिखाता था। बाद में, जब उनसे पूछा गया कि जब सांप उनके पैरों पर रेंगता है तो उन्हें कैसा महसूस होता है, तो उन्होंने उन्हें बताया कि यह ठंडा और नरम लगता है।

जैसे ही नितिन और लुसी दोनों अपने घर पहुंचने वाले थे, लुसी ने नितिन से वादा किया कि वह अगले दिन कहानी जारी रखेगा। नितिन ने उसे धन्यवाद दिया और जानना चाहा कि लुसी को सारी कहानियाँ किसने सुनाईं। लुसी ने उसे बताया कि उसकी दादी बहुत सारी कहानियाँ जानती हैं और वह हर दिन अपनी कहानियाँ सुनाती हैं। दोनों ने एक दूसरे को अलविदा कहा और घर चले गए।

The given text 'Love for Animals' is a story about the great Indian sage Sri Ramana Maharishi and his love and compassion for other living beings. Lucy and Nitin are returning home from school, on the way they see a man trying to talk to his dog. The dog barked and started answering. Lucy suddenly remembers Sri Ramana Maharishi.
She asks Nitin if he knows anything about Lord Ramana Maharishi. Nitin does not know and asks her if there is anything special about her. Lucy tells him that God loves animals and birds. Nitin is now curious to know more about Ramana Maharishi and asks Lucy to tell more about him.
Lucy tells that animals were also attracted to her and that he used to talk to them like he used to talk to people. Nitin wonders if it is like the man they saw talking to their dog. Lucy tells them that he used to call them 'boys' and ask if the 'boys' are eating their food. Nitin is shocked, Lucy further says that she called her cow as Lakshmi and said "Give Lakshmi some rice".
So Nitin was again curious to know where he had kept all those animals. Lucy tells him that they lived in her hermitage and that he would personally feed them. He used to eat only after feeding them. Nitin wanted to know if there are birds in his ashram. Lucy tells him that Ramana Maharishi imitated their cry and called his peacock.
Peacocks would go to him and eat peanuts, rice and mangoes from his hands. Nitin thought it was interesting to know all this and asked Lucy if she could tell him more interesting stories about Ramana Maharishi and animals.
Lucy then narrates an incident from the life of Ramana Maharishi. She tells him that one day Maharishi was sitting on a hill and a snake was crawling at his feet. He was a brave man and he did not move or show any fear. Later, when he was asked how he felt when a snake crawled on his feet, he told him that it felt cool and soft.
Nitin says that if something like this happened to him he would cry and run away. He asked Lucy if he killed snakes in the hermitage. Lucy tells him that Maharishi never allowed people to kill snakes. He patiently explained to them that the people of the ashram had come to occupy the place where the snakes lived and that people had no right to disturb them. Moreover, the snakes did not bother him.
Just as both Nitin and Lucy were about to reach their home, Lucy promised Nitin that he would continue the story the next day. Nitin thanks her and wants to know who told all the stories to Lucy. Lucy tells him that her grandmother knows a lot of stories and she tells her stories every day. Both said goodbye to each other and went home.
