एक बार की बात है एक जंगल में वशिष्ठ नाम के एक ऋषि रहते थे। अपने जीवनकाल में वशिष्ठ के पास शबले नाम की एक गाय थी (जिसे नंदिनी भी कहा जाता है)। वह उसे खाना, पीना, कपड़े और जो कुछ भी वह मांगता था, देती थी। वह भगवान को अर्पित करने के लिए दूध और दूध से बने उत्पाद उपलब्ध कराती थी। वह ऋषि की रक्षा के लिए भयंकर योद्धा पैदा करने में भी सक्षम थी।

इसलिए कौशिका ने वशिष्ठ से 10,000 गायों के बदले में शबले देने को कहा। लेकिन वशिष्ठ ने देने से इनकार कर दिया, कौशिक ने बदले में अपना राज्य भी दे दिया लेकिन वशिष्ठ ने मना कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा, शबले देवी-देवताओं के थे। कौशिका ने गाय को बलपूर्वक ले जाने का निश्चय किया। उसने उसके गले में एक रस्सी डाल दी और उसे खींच लिया लेकिन उसने जाने से इनकार कर दिया।

शबाले ने अपने मालिक की लाचारी को देखा और कौशिका को सबक सिखाने का फैसला किया। वशिष्ठ ने शबले से अनुरोध किया और सैनिकों को कौशिका के आदमियों का विरोध करने का आदेश दिया। उसने खुद को मुक्त किया और वशिष्ठ के बगल में खड़ी हो गई।

 

वह तुरंत एक आश्चर्यजनक परिवर्तन से गुजरने लगी। उसकी आंखों से आग निकल गई। उसका सिर और गर्दन लंबी हो गई। उसकी पूँछ से आग के गोले निकले, उसके मुँह, थन और उसकी भुजाओं से अनेक सैनिक निकले। इन सिपाहियों ने बिना किसी को मारे कौशिका और उसके सैनिकों को आश्रम से खदेड़ दिया।

कौशिका ने महसूस किया कि वह शक्तिशाली नहीं था और बल से कुछ भी हासिल नहीं कर सकता था। इसलिए उन्होंने अपना राज्य छोड़ दिया और ऋषि बन गए। कई वर्षों की प्रार्थना और ध्यान के बाद, वे विश्वामित्र नामक एक सच्चे ऋषि बन गए। विश्वामित्र मेनस विश्व के मित्र हैं।

Once upon a time there lived a sage named Vashistha in a forest. During his lifetime Vashishtha had a cow named Shabale (also known as Nandini). She would give him food, drink, clothes and whatever else he asked for. She used to provide milk and milk products to offer to the Lord. She was also able to produce fierce warriors to protect the sage.

One day, a mighty king Kaushika and his soldiers come to the forest to hunt. He came to Vashishtha's ashram and decided to take rest. Vashistha greets him and asks him to be his guest. He prayed to Shabale and he arranged for them rice, fruits, milk and food according to each one's wish. Kaushika was impressed by Shabale's extraordinary gift. He wanted to take Shabale to his palace.

 

So Kaushika asked Vashistha to give Shabale in exchange for 10,000 cows. But Vashistha refused to give, Kaushik gave his kingdom in return but Vashistha refused. He said, Shabale belonged to the deities. Kaushika decided to take the cow away by force. He put a rope around her neck and pulled her but she refused to leave.

Shabale saw the helplessness of his master and decided to teach Kaushika a lesson. Vashishtha requested Shabale and ordered the soldiers to oppose Kaushika's men. She freed herself and stood next to Vashistha.

 

She immediately went through a surprising transformation. Fire came out of his eyes. His head and neck became longer. Balls of fire came out of his tail, many soldiers came out of his mouth, udder and his arms. These soldiers drove Kaushika and his soldiers out of the ashram without killing anyone.

Kaushika realized that he was not powerful and could not achieve anything by force. So he left his kingdom and became a sage. After many years of prayer and meditation, he became a true sage named Vishwamitra. Vishwamitra Menas is the friend of the world.
