यह दृश्य राणा सांगा के महल के एक कमरे में खुलता है। राणा सांगा मेवाड़ के शासक हैं। अधेड़ उम्र का राजकुमार, लड़ाई में मिले कई घावों के कारण बूढ़ा दिखता है। वह अपंग है। राणा सांगा अपनी पत्नी रानी और बेटे भोजराज से बात कर रहे हैं। मेड़ता से मीराबाई के एक रिश्तेदार जयमल्ल भी उत्सुकता से वहां खड़े हैं। वह एक युवा और राणा सांगा का विश्वासपात्र है। वे सभी इस समय परेशान हैं। रानी गुस्से में हैं और भोजराज दुखी हैं, मुद्दा मीराबाई का व्यवहार है। वह सिर्फ 16 साल की है। वह राणा सांगा के पुत्र भोजराज की पत्नी और भगवान कृष्ण की भक्त हैं।

खुद। महल में उसका कोई दोस्त नहीं है। रानी को मेड़ता वालों से कोई मुहब्बत नहीं है। नर्स अफसोस करती है कि मीराबाई जिद्दी है और राणा को शांत करने के लिए पश्चाताप करने से इंकार कर देती है।

तभी एक नौकरानी मीराबाई के लिए फलों की टोकरी लेकर आती है। मीराबाई अपनी प्रार्थना गाने में व्यस्त हैं, जैसे कि वह किसी प्रिय मित्र या प्रेमी से बात कर रही हों। वह यह मानने से इंकार करती है कि वह अंदर बिल्कुल अकेली है। दासी राजा जयमल का संदेश मीराबाई को सौंपना चाहती है। वह मीराबाई को छोड़कर किसी को भी देने से मना कर देती है। वह थप्पड़ मारने के लिए तैयार है क्योंकि वह उस दिन थी। वह घोषणा करती है कि मीराबाई के अपने कमरे से बाहर आने तक वह प्रतीक्षा करेगी। मीराबाई अपने कमरे से बाहर आती है। वह बहुत पतली हो गई है। नौकर उसे संदेश देता है कि जयमल उससे प्रेमी का कुछ टोकन चाहता है।

scene I

The scene opens in a room in Rana Sanga's palace. Rana Sanga is the ruler of Mewar. A middle-aged prince looks old because of the many wounds he received in the battle. He is handicapped. Rana Sanga talking to his wife Rani and son Bhojraj. Jaimalla, a relative of Mirabai from Merta, is also standing there anxiously. He is a young man and a confidante of Rana Sanga. They are all upset at the moment. Rani is furious and Bhojraj is sad, the issue is Mirabai's behaviour. She is only 16 years old. She is the wife of Bhojraj, son of Rana Sanga and a devotee of Lord Krishna.

Rana Sanga accuses the parents of turning Mirabai's or Mirahai's attention to religion when she should have played. [B Rani reminds Rana Sanga of how she had always resisted the idea of taking a bride from Mena. Bhojraj's complaint against Mirabai of her own free will is that she prays too much. Rana Sanga finds no fault in this as long as Mirabat performs her duty as a married wife and remains morally innocent. Ran hints that Mirabai is characterless. His indication is that Mirabai is having an affair with her cousin Jaimal. But this 'IU' has not been shared by Mirabai's husband. The queen draws the attention of all the family members to the fact that on her wedding day. Meera had circumambulated the idol of Lord Krishna three times.

This was shocking as it was equivalent to marrying Lord Krishna. Jaimal defended Mirabai. He explains that she has always loved the image of Lord Krishna as other children love their toys. The queen is annoyed by his interference. She questions him as to what Meerabai has to do with him. She accuses him of misleading Mirahai. Rana asked him to keep quiet. He then asks his son Bhojraj what he has to say against his wife Mirabai. Bhojraj complains that Mirabai spends a lot of time in devotion to Lord Krishna. She writes sacred poems and does nothing to please them. The queen complains that Mirabai disobeyed his orders and wishes. When Jayamal denies the allegation, she is again furious and wants him to run away. She calls him in vain of her noble birth. Rana Sanga remarks that Jaimal's pride is forgivable as he comes from a royal family.

Bhojraj also takes a tough stand on his mother's allegation that Meerabat has some romance with his cousin. He tells his mother that he does the most injustice to his wife Meeraba: the queen's another allegation against Mirabai is that she has refused to meditate on the goddess of the house, Durga. Rana supports his wife and decides to question Mirabai about it. Rani with tears asks him to stand firm while dealing with Mirabai. Bhojraj left the palace. Rana expects Mirabai to be humble and gentle, but Rani knows that Mirabai is tough as granite.

She retires to an inner chamber. Mirabai comes and stands before Rana with her head bowed.
Hand. Rana asked him to send his attendants. she is scared. Mirabai requests that her old nurse be allowed to stay with her. Rana Sanga accepts the request but he wants the nurse to be away from him. He starts cross interrogating her. He wants to know if she is defying the queen. She submits that she is giving due respect and respect.

His second question is about his religious teachings. She worships Lord Krishna and not Durga, the guardian of her spiritual power. He says it is a question of personal faith. Rana calls this an act of defiance. But she argues that she will die if she is not allowed to worship Lord Krishna. Rana softens and advises her to stop worrying too much. This tells her to play with children, mingle with women, and pick up jewelry to wear, Phi warns, until she stops worshiping Lord Krishna. There will be no peace between him and her. Mirabai opened her neck and offered to put herself to death. He feels awkward. He thinks she is crazy and dismisses her. Her parting advice is to give up her sick habit and prepare herself to have children.

Scene II

The scene is in a room in Rana Sanga's palace entrusted to Princess Mirabai. One of his companions is Sanjogta. He has followed her mercilessly. Then there's an old nurse. She is currently tying a garland of some gold pearls. Sanjogata says that the weather is stormy with thunder clouds in the sky. The nurse says that the weather conditions inside the palace are equally bad. Mirabai has been living like a prisoner in her apartment for three days. Rani is ready to do some more mischief. The nurse prays to God for Mirabai's safety. A small saint who is as pure as a white lotus.

Sanjogata recalls an incident. Once she was slapped by her mother because she did not get the privilege of being a bride in the royal family of Mewar. The nurse calls her lucky. She tells how difficult Mirabai's life is. The queen hates her, is jealous of her beauty and is also jealous of her son. Mirab 

There is a danger of being poisoned. Nurse gives Mirabai cooked food

yourself. He has no friends in the palace. The queen has no love for the mermaids. The nurse regrets that Mirabai is stubborn and refuses to repent to pacify Rana.

Just then a maid brings a basket of fruits for Mirabai. Mirabai is busy singing her prayers as if she is talking to a dear friend or lover. She refuses to believe that she is all alone inside. The maid wants to hand over the message of Raja Jaimal to Mirabai. She refuses to give it to anyone except Mirabai. She is ready to slap as she was that day. She announces that she will wait till Mirabai comes out of her room. Mirabai comes out of her room. She has become very thin. The servant gives him a message that Jaimal wants some token of his lover from him.

Mirabai tells that she does not need anything as help from her cousin. When the servant is gone, the nurse feeds him an evil lady whose job it is to pour poison into the queen's ears. She was the messenger of the queen and not of Raja Jaimal. The nurse curses the day they left. His kingdom for Mewar. But Mirabai does not grumble. She calls it a part of her destiny. She says that when she was only six years old, her mother dedicated her to Lord Krishna. But her devotion to her master is creating trouble for all those who love her. He feels sorry for the brave Jaimal, who has suffered and driven out of Mewar because of his humiliation.

There is a dispute between the guard and some women outside. Soon two female hostesses enter, on which stands a golden cup. They say that this Charanamrit is of Lord Rana Sanga of Mewar. The nurse makes noise and shouts that Meera will drink Rana's hot drink, knowing full well that it is poison. Sanjogta also starts crying. She wants to drink it herself. But Mirabai does not allow him to do so. He himself agrees to drink the contents of the cup as only a person from the royal family is entitled to drink it. She lifts the cup to her lips. He is ready to die. She drinks it in one go. But a miracle happens. The poison has no effect on him. She keeps on chanting her prayer. She says that she has bought her Lord Krishna at a price which some call too high and some say small. But he has given her his life, his love, his soul and his all.
