The poem is the autobiography of a stream. The stream is the speaker. It tells the story of his life. The brook (stream) comes from places where waterfowl such as coot and hem live. It suddenly comes out and is seen flowing among the women. It makes a lot of noise as it flows fast in a valley. During its journey it passes through thirty hills, twenty settlements and fifty bridges. Finally it flows into Philip's farm and joins the flowing river. Human beings come and die from generation to generation, but the drain continues to flow forever. There are a lot of curves on the edge of the brook.
He is coming and following in many areas. He says that he will keep on describing the river for the seasons that a man can come and go. Now he describes a lusty trout (a large freshwater fish) and a grayling (fish). B describes that when the stream flows smoothly it forms its form. When he slips through the cover of a dozen trees he comes across several lawns and plots of grass. He felt it as he moved on.
He describes about the sweet don't forget me (flower) that grows for happy lovers. And finally he says that he will continue to express his feelings about the river. He walks on his path under the moon and stars that he covers. Its passage covered with small round pebbles. It gets mixed in the rivers. The Brooke poet wants to emphasize that Brooke never stops, but it goes on. Brooke's movement is a never-ending process.
