यह कविता कैसुरिना वृक्ष का वर्णन है। यहाँ, कसूरीना के पेड़ का उपयोग एक बड़े बरगद के पेड़ के लिए किया जाता है जो कवि के घर के बगीचे में उगता था। लता एक विशाल अजगर की तरह बढ़ रही थी जो पेड़ के चारों ओर चक्कर लगा रहा था। पेड़ बहुत ऊँचा हो गया। उसके पास कोई दूसरा पेड़ नहीं उग सकता था। पक्षी और मधुमक्खियाँ अपने मधुर गीतों से उसके चारों ओर उड़ गए। पुरुष इसकी छाया में विश्राम किया करते थे। कवि भी यहाँ विश्राम करके प्रसन्न था।

सर्दी के मौसम में यह बहुत आकर्षक लगती थी। कोयल अपनी डालियों से दिन की ओलावृष्टि करती थी। बहुत सुन्दर और विशाल था। इसकी भव्यता इस बात में निहित है कि कवि के पास पेड़ के नीचे अपने बचपन की कई यादें थीं। उसके साथ अपने प्रियतम की स्मृति भी जुड़ी हुई है। इसने अपने भाई और बहन की मृत्यु को याद किया जो समय से पहले मर गए थे। पेड़ ने अपना सारा शोक साझा किया था।

पेड़ का एक शास्त्रीय मूल्य है। उसे हर समय एक समाधि जैसी स्थिति का अनुभव होता है। कवि के पास पेड़ के लिए आशा और प्रेम है और यह उसके लिए जीवन से भी प्रिय है। वह यह सोचकर दुखी होती है कि एक दिन पेड़ नष्ट हो सकता है। वह चाहती है कि अगर वह इसे बचा सकती है। लेकिन कोई ऐसा नहीं कर सकता क्योंकि यह एक प्राकृतिक प्रक्रिया है और एक दिन पेड़ का अंत अवश्य होगा। कुछ भी अमर नहीं है-न तो मनुष्य और न ही पेड़। लेकिन फिर भी कवयित्री की इच्छा है कि वृक्ष प्राकृतिक जीवन के सभी अभिशापों को दूर करे और कवयित्री के प्रेम के कारण हमेशा संरक्षित रहे। पेड़ उनकी कविता में जीवित रहेगा।

This poem is a description of the Casuarina tree. Here, the casuarina tree is used for a large banyan tree that grew in the garden of the poet's house. The creeper was growing like a huge dragon which was circling around the tree. The tree grew very tall. No other tree could grow near it. Birds and bees flew around him with their melodious songs. Men used to rest in its shade. The poet was also happy to rest here.

It looked very attractive in winter season. The cuckoo used to hail the day with its branches. It was very beautiful and spacious.
