Registered candidates must check their name serial number & category-wise. If a candidate has registered for a particular course and his/her name not appear on the list, then they are not eligible to participate in the counseling round. In case, if the name appears, then he/she need to report to the college along with the necessary documents. Vivekananda College Merit List 2023 will contain the following details.
After the Merit List has been released, the selected candidates will have to physically visit the Vivekananda College for the document verification. In the document verification process, candidates are required to carry the documents below on the day of reporting to the college.
Vivekananda College is one of the largest colleges of East Delhi that provides oportunities for higher education to women in the trans-Yamuna area. A multi – facility premier institution with qualified academicians imparting education in diverse fields, the college has a reputation for outstanding performance in academics. A constituent college of the University of Delhi, it attracts some of the most hard-working undergraduates every year, not simply because of its reputation in East Delhi, but more importantly because of its dedicated faculty. Many amongst its faculty are renowned authors and are read with considerable interest by scholars and researchers. Furthermore, concerted efforts are being made to improve upon its infrastructure and facilities. Over the years, both graduate and post graduate students from Vivekananda College have performed well in life. Quite a few students have been readily admitted in renowned universities and have good jobs.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The sprawling college campus at Vivek Vihar is spread over an area of over 10 Acres which includes 3939 sq metres of built up area & 5.2 acres of open space for garden and sports facilities. The teaching- learning process is facilitated in 35 class rooms, 12 tutorial rooms, two specialized laboratories, three state -of-the-art computer centres with high speed Internet connectivity, a seminar room, conference room, an auditorium and a fully automated library. The entire college campus is Wi-Fi enabled. A new synthetic track (200 mts.), the first of its kind in Delhi University, has been laid. The college also provides residential facilities for the Principal, teaching faculty and non teaching staff . The construction of a new academic block has been completed and the teaching has started in new building.
FACILITIES
The Library is well-stocked and fully-computerized. It has around 53,600 books covering almost all aspects of Commerce & Humanities. It regularly subscribes to about 61 Periodicals including 10 daily newspapers in Hindi and English. Internet and OPAC facility is also available. U.G.C. Infonet Services including J-STOR is available for the benefit of the academic fraternity. The Library has a “Book Bank” consisting of core texts books, which are issued to deserving students for the whole academic year. Services offered by the library are circulation, consultation, reference and inter- library loan. There is also a collection of audio-visual materials like maps, atlases, compact discs and audio-cassettes. The library has comfortable Reading Rooms spread over two floors with a seating capacity of 140. It extends its current awareness services by providing newspapers/ magazines in the Staff Room and the Students’ Common Room.The library remains open from 9.00 a.m to 5.30 p.m on all working days. Computer Labs – There are three labs in the college with 115 terminals and Internet facilities for the students and teachers. These labs are also equipped with teaching aids such as LCD Projectors and Scanners. The College wants all its students to be conversant with modern learning aids. The entire college campus is Wi-Fi enabled.
ACADEMIC RESOURCES
The Psychology Laboratory is well equipped with different types of apparatus for conducting experiments, such as electronic memory apparatus, tachistoscope, mirror drawing apparatus etc. A range of psychological tests is also available in the laboratory, for example, personality tests, intelligence tests, aptitude tests, attitude and value scales etc. There is also a proposal to provide a second psychology laboratory in the near future.
The Food Technology Laboratory is equipped with the latest gadgets for students to perform various lab-oriented practicals. The students are provided with expert skills in bakery and preservation of food, so that they can compete with other professionals in the industry. Keeping in mind the changing demands of the food market, several low cost new food products are also developed every year.
The Music Room is equipped with a variety of instruments to facilitate the students in their practical work and hence equip them with skills of better co-ordination with different instruments. The students learn Hindustani vocal music and get a chance to perform at various college and inter-college functions.
The Sports facilities in the college include a large playground. Intensive training is imparted under expert guidance. Each year, students of Vivekananda College achieve notable distinctions, and many of them are selected for All India Inter- University and National tournaments. Facilities are provided for Athletics, Hockey, Table- Tennis, Volley Ball, Kabaddi and Cross Country. A synthetic track (200 mts.), approved by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, has been laid and will start functioning from this session. The track is one of its kind in among all the colleges of Delhi University.
Vivekananda Auditorium has a seating capacity of 700. It is fully air-conditioned and its light and sound system are currently being revamped. The Auditorium hosts various academic and cultural events of the college. It also encourages well-known cultural groups to hold their programmes for the benefit of the students and community.
Sharda Hall: This air-conditioned facility can accommodate up to 150 students and is frequently used for seminars, talks and lectures by external professionals. It has an LCD projector and is also used for screening film shows by the Film Society of the college.
Canteen: The recently refurnished canteen is the hub of out-of-class discussions and exchange of information. It provides snacks, drinks and lunch at subsidized rates.
Bank: Banking services are provided by the Vivek Vihar branch of Canara Bank through an Extension Counter in the College. Depositing of fees etc.is done through this counter. Students can also open individual accounts with the bank.
Medical Facilities: There is a Medical Room in the College which provides first aid. An Allopathic doctor is available for consultation, for three hours, four times a week. An Ayurvedic doctor gives consultation twice a week, while a Homoeopathic doctor visits twice a week.
Counselling Services: The College provides Counselling services to students, throughout the academic session. An expert counsellor is available for consultation on Fridays – 10.00a.m. to 1.00p.m.
Note: Delhi University’s ‘Population Education Resource Centre’ provides Helpline Counselling Services on HIV, AIDS, Sexuality, Drug Abuse and other adolescent issues, for students. Awareness is provided by doctors and trained counsellors through peer group training programmes. These services as well as learning material, developed by the centre, may be availed of through the College.
Note: The Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities provides hostel facility for boys and girls studying in the post metric or higher classes in government institutions at the Sanskar Ashram Complex, Dilshad Garden, Delhi-93.
Students’ Information Bulletin Board displays information regarding co-curricular activities taking place in the College and other educational institutions. The Board also displays important notices and students are required to keep themselves up to date on College affairs.
Identity Card: Every student of the College will be provided with an Identity Card after her admission has been confirmed. This Card should always remain in her possession and should be produced as and when asked for. In case of its loss, the student will be required to get a duplicate one by making a payment of Rs.30/- and furnishing a copy of her photograph.
Fee Concession & Students’ Aid Fund
Fee Concession is granted to very needy and deserving students. Application for fee concession, on the prescribed form (available with the cashier), must be submitted to the office on the dates announced for the purpose.
The Students’ Aid Fund has been established for helping needy and deserving students, in various forms, e.g. giving them examination fee, conveyance, medical aid etc. Application for assistance under this scheme must reach the college office by the dates notified for the purpose.
Based on various factors, such as marks in the qualifying examination, number of seat availability and number of applicants, the official admissions authority of the college prepares and publishes the merit list of Vivekananda College. The preparation of merit list for admission to UG courses is based on marks in the Higher Secondary (Class 12th) examination. The college does not conduct any entrance examination for admission. Students can sit for counseling on the basis of Vivekananda College Merit List 2023.
